Because technology has improved, we are able to know more about the vehicles we drive and its needs. When a light is illuminated on the instrument cluster, it makes us aware of specific vehicle need or problem. These problems can vary from something minor, such as low washer fluid, or something more serious like a loss of hydraulic pressure in the braking system.
YELLOW lights are generally given to caution you of an impending problem, whereas RED lights indicate a more serious issue. A RED light should not be ignored as it MAY indicate a safety issue or a problem that could lead to a costly repair.
A flashing CHECK ENGINE light is an indication that damage is occurring to critical emissions components and the vehicle should NOT be driven. If a warning light comes on, and you are unsure of it's meaning, consult your vehicle operations manual before continuing your drive.
At Fayette Import we have the Factory style equipment to identify problems associated with these warning lights so they can be corrected.
